Edge
The crumbling cliffs adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea are a by-product of the changing climate, which brings rising tides
and heightening storms. These crumbling cliffs loom as disturbing metaphors of our times.
“The Edge series is a continuation of Tchetchik’s practice, which is deeply rooted in the history of landscape photography.
It also corresponds with the history of painting, bringing to mind the works of Caspar David Friedrich and Mark Rothko.
While some of the works are rough and painful, others are gentle and beautiful, yet they all carry a profound weight of sadness. Tchetchik provides subtle evidence of mankind’s disruption of nature, while presenting man’s fragility when facing it.
Every moment that Tchetchik chooses to stop and frame is a requiem.
A glance into a future of transition, a plea to remember what will soon pass. Time has passed, time will pass”.
